First Name: Jocky Wilson
Date of Birth: 30 December 1951
Achievements: One of the great legends of the game, Jocky took up the sport, famously because 'he was on the dole and had nothing better to do'.

In reality the Scotsman from Kirkaldy won the Butlin's Grand Masters competition in 1979, which came with a 500 pay cheque and had found his calling.

A natural at the game, Jocky instantly broke into the top flite and in 1982 defeated John Lowe to become the Embassy World Champion.

He repeated the win in 1989, this time beating Eric Bristow in the final.

As well known for his fiery temprament as his darts, Jocky bowed out of the sport in the mid nineties and continues to live in Kirkaldy the town of his birth
