"CV grad Glass on pace for kills mark"

Women's volleyball player Kim Glass, a Conestoga Valley grad, led all University of Arizona players with 76 kills (a 5.43 kpg average) and 38 digs in the 20th Wildcat Classic. Arizona went 2-2 in the tournament, defeating Miami and Rhode Island and losing to San Diego State and Santa Clara

Glass, a sophomore, was Arizona's lone representative on the All-Wildcat Classic team.

Glass, who recorded a single seson school record 556 kills in her freshman year, is on a pace to become the fastest Arizona player to reach 1,000 kills in a career. After posting 130 kills in her first seven matches this season, Glass has accumulated 686 career kills in 39 matches played.

Should she knock down the remaining 314 kills needed to reach the mark, Glass would become the first sophomore in school history to do so. Glass needs to average 13.7 kills per match in Arizona's 23 remaining scheduled contests to reach 1,000 in the regular season.

CV Girls Traveled to Columbia for a Section II match. Columbia came to play, defending their 4-1 record in the league. The Tide surprised the Bucks in the first game, winning a controverial first game, 27-25. With the CV ahead 11-8 in the second game, the lights went out for Columbia, actually for everyone as the lights in the gym went out from the hurricane. Even though the electricity came back on in a few seconds, the gym lights took over 10 minutes to return. The lights never did come back on for Columbia as CV won the next three games to secure the match. Amber Thomas had a season high 20 kills in the match along with Lindsay Bunting's season high 13 digs. Michelle Wile boasted a season high 33 assists in the four game match.

Garden Spot- Away
Tuesday, September, 2003

CV Girls Traveled to Garden Spot to face the only other undefeated team in Section II. JV placed their undefeated section record on the line in the first match. GS came out fast and controlled the tempo of both games, handing CV JV their first section loss of the year.

Varsity was looking to avenge their lone game loss in section play last year. In 2002 when CV traveled to GS, the Spartans won a game to force a third game in the match. CV won that match to preserve the Section II winning steak. This year was a different story. From the beginning of game one, CV showed they would not take GS lightly this year. Michelle Wile put the first game out of reach by serving 7 aces in a 14 point run. The Lady Bucks dominated the match, winning the first 25-6, and the second game 25-8. Coach Al game Amber Thomas and Leslie Heffner a rest in game three, which CV shocked GS again by keeping them under 10 points, 25-7. CV ended the night with 33 service aces, a new team high.
